Saddle Fitting || New Saddle
What to expect -
Pre-Ride: Static assessment > confirmation assessment > back assessment > trot up > template horse > statically assess a selection of saddles according to preference and budget (pre-discussed) > assess saddle shapes.
Riding: Ridden assessment to shortlist saddles, testing them out in your discipline specific movements e.g. over jumps for a jump saddle / light seat.
Post-Ride: Rider and fitter discuss and choose favourite > discuss any bespoke and customisation requests > order saddle.
Some saddles are available on the day - off the peg, if the fit is correct, or saddles will be made to order. Lead times are brand dependent and susceptible to change, please contact me to find out more.
Please note: for a new saddle - your delivery and set up appointment is included in the price.

Saddle Fitting || Adjust & Repair
What to expect -
Static assessment > templating > assess the current saddle fit > adjust saddle on site > ridden assessment > further adjustments on site if necessary > discussion between fitter and rider to ensure horse and rider are happy.
Time allowed -
New client: 1.5 hours
Routine check: 1 hour
Each additional saddle: + 30 minutes - 1 hour

What to expect on the day
Ridden -
This is not about watching you ride per se it is about watching how a saddle moves, does the horse move it to one side, does the rider get moved to the horses stronger side.....
Movements need to be seen in all gaits as horses move differently, any movement will be highlighted so it can be adjusted.
Your normal discipline will need to be seen i.e. if it is a jump saddle you will need to jump. Don't worry if you have a young or green horse an assessment can still be carried out.

What you need on the day
Equipment -
New Saddle: Hat, bridle, girth, stirrups and leathers.​
Saddle Check: Everything you are currently using in your day to day riding, including any padding arrangements for the saddle.
Horse -
Clean, dry and groomed, ready to start on dry level ground, held in headcollar or bridled if necessary. Please do not tack up, if I am delayed I will call you in advance.
Facilities -
A well-lit and dry area to take all measurements and assess the saddle(s).
A safe area to ride in, arena is preferred but a grass paddock is acceptable as long as safe for you and your horse.​
Any equipment required to complete a full assessment e.g. jumps.
I am happy to meet you at an arena hire, I also offer fitting available at my yard in Kenilworth if there are no facilities available to you.
